Garage Sale Update!
Our Saturday was filled with treats, beautiful people with equally beautiful stories, strangers, friends, family, lots of items for sale, maori bread, free hugs and all the other things you would expect to find at a garage sale.
If you've been following moms story then I'm sure you know that this past weekend we had a garage sale to help us raise funds for moms cancer treatment at the Northern Baha Gerson Center.
We had a GREAT turn out and God sent us some very generous warm hearted souls. We were surrounded by sincere and genuine energy all day and attribute that to all the people who came out to support Mom.
If you werent able to attend we've still got lots of things we want to sell so if you couldn't make it yesterday then please feel free to set up a time with us to come check out our stock.
Thank you to our dear sister Aga for making yummy Maori bread for Saturday. It was a HUGE hit and everyone loved it!
Thank you to our cousin Pepe for coming over and helping us set up, hang posters etc. You're always so great at helping us pull everything together.
Thank you to Merissa for coming over to support and plan a bake sale for mom in 2 weeks. Stay tuned for more info on all that yumminess.
Thank you to our Highline Samoan Ward members who came and offered generous donations and positive thoughts. You know who you are and we love you!!
Thank you to those who helped us spread the word about our sale.
Thank you to those who continue to send donations, prayers and love!
With thankful hearts,
The Toala Family

Love is spoken here
What is love?
That's a pretty deep question and one that yields different answers from all cultures. Love means many things to our family, but having our team leader wrestle with cancer has brought new meanings to that word.
Having Mom go through this struggle has been very hard to watch, but we can't dismiss all of the love that we have felt and the love that I have witnessed since our family started this journey with mom. I can't tell you everything that love is, but allow me to share with you some of the forms that love has taken in our family.
Love is ...
- mom and dad falling asleep every night with the promise that, "I'll see you in the morning."
- dad singing to mom to take her mind off of the never ending pain.
- dad eating organic vegetables so that mom doesn't feel sad that she can't eat like she used to. If you really know my dad then you will know how big of a deal this is. The man loves meat!
-having so many sweet friends come over with flowers and donations without even knowing we are raising money for moms treatment at Baha Gerson Clinic.
- having sweet in laws send care packages and kind thoughts at just the right time
- having members from our Highline Samoan Ward sincerely ask about how mom is doing. This makes mom feel so special!!
- our family running on very little sleep so that we can trade off who stays up with mom to give her pain meds, juices, herbal tea's etc.
- the knowledge that God loves our mom and is here with us every day aiding us in her care
- waking up every morning and knowing that God has given us another day with our sweet earth angel.
I could make this list 10 times longer if time permitted. We recognize that right now is a very hard time for our family, but we have been shown so much love that it makes everyday so much happier and lighter! Thank you to all of you who have sent prayers, donations, happy thoughts and love our way! We understand that there are countless charities that you could give to and are so thankful that you are reading this and giving us your time. Keep spreading the love friends!
With thankful hearts!

Give Forward!
We have gotten a few emails recently from people who have wanted to donate to Mom, but would like their donations to be tax deductible. After much research we have found that our previous Gofundme account didn't offer this option so we are making one FINAL move to the following address.
https://www.giveforward.com/fundraiser/h2d3/helprosalina
We hope this better serves those of you who were concerned about making tax deductible donations and possibly motivate our silent supporters to get involved :) We will still be using this website as our main source for updating you all on Momma Toala's progress.
Be kind. Be brave. Be well.

A new website for Mom!
As we mentioned before, we have been working on putting together a website that would strictly be used for gathering donations to help fund Mom's treatment. As promised we have that website ready to launch!
(drum roll please)
The new and improved website can be found at
https://www.giveforward.com/fundraiser/h2d3/helprosalina
There are a lot of exciting projects we are putting together to help further this cause including Spa Days, Bake Sales and a Charity Ball in honor of Rosalina. If you'd like to become a part of these events or have an idea for other events please email us at [email protected].
We look forward to hearing from you!

Update!
We have been working very hard on this end to come up with the best and most efficient way to both share Mom's story and collect donations to help fund her treatments. This is why we are so excited to announce that we have finally found the best way to do that. We love the idea of using this blog to update family and friends [ that's you! :) ] on Mom's condition and treatment so this blog will only be here to serve that purpose and will no longer be collecting donations. We are in the process of constructing a new website that will strictly be for the purpose of fundraising.
Stay tuned for that new website that should be ready to launch in the coming week!!
Also, we are looking for volunteers for an upcoming Charity Ball that we are hosting in our mothers honor. For those of you who would love the opportunity to be a part of Mom's treatment, but can't donate financially this might be just the thing for you!

With Immense Love and Gratitude
Our hearts have been filled with the outpouring of generosity from friends and family to help with mom's treatment. Every dollar makes a difference for Rosalina, and we know that it was a sacrifice for each of you. We recognize that many of you have been affected by recent economic struggles or have many needs of your own, but have selflessly donated to our cause. May God be with you and return your kindness with increased blessings.
Check back soon for updates on moms condition.
With immense love and gratitude,

Meet Rosalina
Talofa! My name is Rosalina Vui Toala and I'm originally from the island of Samoa in the Pacific. That is where I met my wonderful husband Leuo and started a family. When we had our first two children, Tina and Junior, we decided in their best interest to move to the United states to give them a better future.
We arrived in the U.S. with almost nothing to our name and had to work very hard. I've always worked as a caregiver and Leuo provided for our family by working in warehouses and moving up to management positions in different stores such as Macy's and Sears. He is also a good businessman and aside from helping our family he has always tried to help other family members.
We have now been in the U.S. for almost 20 years and have added two more children to our family, Paul and Jaxon. Currently we are residing in Burien, Washington and are grateful for the blessings of this country. Tina, Junior, and Paul have all gone to college just as we always dreamed and Jaxon is now just starting elementary school. The family is still growing seeing as Tina married Brett last year who is now in his second year of medical school.
I am 47 years old and I feel that I still have so much to live for. I want to live to see my kids graduate college and get good jobs and have children of their own. I have now been battling ovarian cancer for over a year and a half. First off I had the cancer surgically removed which was followed by several rounds of chemotherapy which was very hard on my body. I lost nearly 50 pounds and all of my hair. Recovering my health was so important to me though, so I became very dedicated to eating healthy, walking outside daily, and visiting complimentary medicine doctors to boost my immune system and work with my body.
The procedures helped to slow down the cancer at first, but it has made an aggressive comeback. The malignancy is spreading in my body and I require additional care. The financial stress of my disease has put a lot of strain on our family and we have worked tirelessly to meet the demands, especially my sweet husband who acquired extra work to support me. This is where we could really use your help and generosity. Anything you can give is greatly appreciated and goes directly towards my treatment. Merry Christmas and God bless you!
